They were very thorough in checking my car. All problems found were explained to me and corrected. That also recommended a major repair be reported to my insurance due to a previous repair at another shop.

I am beyond speechless ! My battery died at the UDF gas pump and I called another shop which was actually closer and was advised the fee was going to be almost $200 for a jump. I then called Clintonville auto repair and Greg answered and told me he would be over within five minutes. Upon arrival with a jump pack , within minutes I was back on the road. He would not even let me give him a tip, but told me to pay it forward. I definitely will and anytime I need automotive repairs. I will definitely know where to go. Thank you so much, Greg.

I was referred to this shop by a so-called “trusted mechanic” who told me these guys had been in the business for a long time and were good people, so I decided to give them a chance. I brought my vehicle in because it repeatedly shuts off while driving and asked them to diagnose the issue causing the power loss. During the visit, they suggested the problem might be a kill switch and asked if I wanted to move forward with the repair. I told them I was willing to proceed if it would fix the issue I originally brought the car in for. I paid $416 for the repair they recommended. Unfortunately, the original problem was never resolved and the vehicle still shuts off while driving. I was later told they could not properly test drive the car because of rust on the driver-side floorboard, which meant they could not confirm whether their repair actually fixed the problem. This was frustrating because I paid for a diagnosis and repair but the main issue I came in for was never verified as solved. Between this repair and the towing required to get the vehicle to and from shops, I have spent a significant amount of money and still have the same problem. I recommend making sure the shop fully confirms that a repair actually resolves the issue before approving the work.

My new go to auto repair shop! I went in to get a headlight replaced and found out it was appointment only. I dropped my car off after hours that day and they started working on it first thing the following morning. They did a full inspection and sent a link (see photos) that showed me everything what is working well, needs future attention, or immediate attention with photos attached. I ended up needing new tires and they charged me less for the tires than what Costco or Tire Discount would've charged me. They finished new tires, cabin filter, and headlight replacement same day! Overall, fast and thorough service, not at all pushy to spend more or get the most expensive parts, and friendly. Highly recommend!

Even after moving out of Clintonville, I still go back to CARS. They shoot you straight and give you options for repairs. They also tell you what might be coming and give pricing guidelines. Very helpful and I never feel pressured to do anything

Recent service for my 1996 Honda Passport at CARS was excellent. They replaced the water pump, timing belt and radiator hoses. CARS has serviced my vehicle for quite a few years and I’ve always found them to be competent, their prices fair, and their service is backed by an excellent warranty .

I didn’t get work done, but I pulled in with the drive shaft hanging from the bottom of my suv. Gary, the service manager, couldn’t help me with short staffing but was able to link me up with someone who could. Sometimes just a little help goes a long way when you need to get back on the road after a long morning. I can’t say anything about the work of the shop but I can say I truly appreciated the assistance, professionalism and willingness just to help me out.

As the cold weather set in shortly after the start of the new year, my cars battery began exhibiting signs failing. I pushed it as long as I could, until one cold morning, it just would not start anymore. I called CARS and was able to get scheduled in shortly thereafter. A quick jumpstart got it started and I delivered it to the shop.. CARS records showed that my battery had been installed six years ago. A further check of my vehicles maintenance records indicated additional services I had neglected were needed. Additionally, the 15 year old air struts on my hatchback were worn out and would no longer support the hatch in an open position. Everything was taken care of and I had my vehicle back in 24 hours. If I wasn't satisfied with the quality and cost of their service, I wouldn't keep going back. I have been a satisfied CARS customer for 45 years. I haven't found another shop that gives the quality of work and customer service I have found at CARS.

This is the only mechanic I'll take my car to. As a young woman who honestly knows nothing about cars, I've felt taken advantage of at my fair share of mechanics. This is not one of those places. I've come here twice for major repairs, and both times they've done minor stuff for free (topping off my oil, rotating my tires, etc.) as well as being very transparent about the cost and reasoning behind the cost of everything, and explaining everything very clearly without being condescending, in spite of the fact that, as noted, I know nothing about cars. The first repair happened during a busy work week for me, so my dad was more in touch with the mechanic than I was, and he was very impressed that he was called when the price was $10 more than what he was quoted. I have no doubt that the people here know what they're doing, care about it, and I trust them with my car. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Hands down the best experience at a mechanic that I’ve ever had. The staff here is SO wonderful!!! They were transparent and honest about the recommended repairs and gave full estimates in advance. This is the only mechanic I’ve been to that has taken the time to explain/teach me what issues they found and how the repairs will remedy the problem (without being rude or condescending to a woman who clearly doesn’t know much about engines lol). Will be taking my car here for everything in the future and recommending to all my friends. Thank you so much for the work you do!

You did a great job. I took my partner to his Dr. appt. On the way back my car just shut down on 161. Took probably 20 minutes to get it started. Got over to White Castle. Got a sandwich and relaxed.When we went out, my car started. But I called AAA to tow us to Clintonville Auto Repair. I was so afraid it'd shut down on me again. I'm 78 and my guy is 80. Not wise to be out there and maybe not have good luck. We praise AAA and Clintonville Auto Repair. They got us back on the road again. Thank you! Thank you ! Not what it used to be. Years ago, I swore by CARS. I felt like I could trust them and they could get the job done. Perhaps they have had a change in management? I took my car there about 2 months ago, they ran a diagnostic, charged a lot for this, then said I should take it to the dealership, fine. However, they also told me that my tires were about to burst if I did not have them all replaced within the next month. And then tried to sell me 2000$ worth of new tires. I was dubious. When I took my Jeep to the dealership, they said my tires were fine and I should not worry and was fine to go on a road trip. I also stopped in at Discount Tire for a 3rd opinion because at this point I was so confused, they also told me I was fine and didn't need to replace my tires. I feel like I was being scammed. Today, I thought I would give them a try again because I'm having some trouble with stalling about every day. They're close and I want to support local business. I was told that if the problem does not occur when I bring it in they won't be able to do anything and it would cost me 245$ diagnostic fee regardless. This does not make me feel confident. I'm just going to the dealership. If I'm going to pay out the nose, I might as well do that. I'm done with Clintonville Automotive Repair Service.

Sorry to hear your needs were not met in the way you wanted. That previous visit was for a wobble in the steering. We confirmed that there were no damaged/worn parts and took it on 2 separate test drives. We did not have any wobble. We did suggest checking with the Dealer as Jeep had put out a TSB regarding this condition AND a Recall. We felt charging the $150 for 45 minutes of Testing & Inspection was fair, as most people expect to get paid when they do work. We did NOT say the tires were about to burst. What we advised, in words and with pictures, is that the tires were 6 years old, in the last 20% of usable tread, AND had cracking in the rubber. We provided options for replacement that ranged from $1726 to $2300 depending on the tire choice. As for the most recent concern, again, it was notification that we do charge for Testing/Evaluation. If we go through the proper inspections and everything is good, and we don't experience the issue, we will still have charge for the time spent.

I called this place because it came recommended and maybe they do awesome work but based on my conversation over the phone, terrible!! Person was condescending and not willing to give info. Saying their hourly Rate was $77.83 but could be more. What? Realize other places charge twice that for hourly rate but just tell me what your rate is, don’t just say it could be more than that based on many factors like make of car etc. I told him it was a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek and he repeated $77.83 but “could be more.” When I asked for clarification about what could make it more now that he knew the car, he was very aggravated that I was asking this like I wouldn’t understand and said I was asking the wrong questions. Then I asked if the diagnostic fee would be applied towards the repairs if I do the them, and he said no but wanted to give me this long explanation about why that was. I told him I understand that and it made sense but he wanted to just keep explaining why. Also said the diagnostic fee was $155.11 but again… “could be more.” Whatever, I’ll take my chances with Goodyear.

This was my first time going to CARS and it was smooth, the staff — especially Erica, Gary and Paul all whom I spoke to at one point during the time I dropped off my car to picking it up. Paul really took the time to explain the condition my car was in and why the repairs were needed. I’m not well versed in the nitty gritty of cars and as a woman I’m hesitant to approach auto repair places, but my experience at Clintonville Auto Repair Service made me not feel anxious at all! I definitely will be coming back when my car needs another service :)!

I’m a huge fan of Clintonville’s diverse small businesses. It’s what makes it such a wonderful place to live along with its schools, walkability, and friendly neighbors. I’m not one to typically complain about services, but because this situation was so egregious, I just wanted to share my experience so no one else in our community is taken advantage of. I was having an issue with a radiator fan in my car that wouldn’t turn off when the engine was shut off. I took the car Clintonville Auto Car Repair. They told me that it was a leaky head gasket and said repairs would be close to 6 thousand dollars. On top of 400 dollars I owed for the inspection.They wouldn’t take my extended warranty( now I realize it was because insurance would have called foul ) so I took it to another shop. There after doing testing, it was clear that the head gasket passed all the tests and given that there were leaves all over the spark plugs Clintonville Auto Car Repair didn’t even do a visual inspection. I’m flagging this so no one else in the neighbor gets taken advantage of.

Unfortunately phone quotes are typically incorrect which causes even more frustration when the actual costs are presented. This is why years ago we decided to longer provide ballpark or firm numbers without putting our eyes and ears on the issue.

I have been coming to CARS for almost 5 years, and they have always been wonderful. As a woman who has limited car knowledge, it's hard to find a place that won't take advantage of you, but CARS is one of those places that doesn't. Most recently, to potentially save me a lot of money, Paul went out of his way to research if my car's problem would be covered by the dealership since it was a common problem for Hyundais, something I would never know or consider. They have also monitored a problem on my car for years that I mentioned hoping not to have to pay for until finishing graduate school. They could easily lie and tell me it needs to be fixed now, but for a couple years now, they have told me at each oil change that it hasn't progressed. I'll be really sad to lose this place when I move out of town!

I'll try to keep my review brief. Back in June, my Hyundai Sonata was targeted and broken into for an attempted theft. They broke the glass and while they didn't steal the car, they completely messed up my steering panel. I tried calling a couple places that could fix this, C.A.R.S. told me they could, so I had my tow truck drop it off there. It took about a month to get my car back (that wasn't entirely their fault, my understanding is there was a cyber hack that delayed things. Still, it would have been nice for them to let me know that update versus me calling them asking what was going on). Not long after, my car was having trouble turning on. Tried jumper cables, that didn't work. So again, I had my car towed back to C.A.R.S. for further inspection. They replaced the starter. A month later, again, I was having troubles turning my car on and took it back for a third time to C.A.R.S. They told me basically nothing was wrong, my vehicle is in "theft mode" and if I just play around with the key fob, it should work. I found that odd because I never do anything different when I get in my car and turn it on, but ok. From there, sometimes it would turn on, sometimes it would not. I would have to basically hope and pray the "key fob" trick would work. After some more time, that no longer would work and I had to use jumper cables to get my car to turn on. I no longer could trust C.A.R.S. to fix this issue, as I kept racking up charges and my car was never reliable. So I took it to Luke's Auto instead. There, they found my module was completely disconnected. Since I had to jump my car so often, I now needed a new battery. I'm not a car guy, so getting into the specifics on the repairs is above my pay grade. But here's what I can confidently share: Driving (if I could drive at all) my car ever since I took it to C.A.R.S. made my life hell. Between my initial insurance claim and future visits, I spent thousands of dollars to not have a reliable vehicle. Ever since I took it to Luke's, it has been a pain-free experience and my vehicle has been perfectly normal. Had I simply taken my car there back in June, I would have saved so much money and had so much less stress. Not to mention, they came across significantly more communicative and customer-friendly, from their waiting room all the way to their follow-ups.

Extremely happy with Clintonville Automotive. I dropped my car off and was walked through the entire process, ensuring that I knew what to expect along every step of the way. They made sure to call before any actions that might result in me paying money, and gave me a detailed report of what they found in the diagnostics. Then they informed me that my used car was still under warranty and were honest enough to send me back to the dealer. They may have foregone one transaction, but they gained a loyal customer for my future family car needs.

They advertise on their website as transmissions being their specialty but didn't seem to know many specifics about my makers transmission and referred me to a specialty shop. I asked for one specific item to be looked at but they charged me to tell me 2 of my fluids were dirty which they were not and they really didn't know what was wrong with my car.

I do NOT recommend going here. The guy at the front was going to charge us $150.59 just to inspect my van plus $909 for new radiator and another $233 for coolant flush. Go to Bernie’s instead where they will take care of you. This place (Clintonville Automotive Repair Service) takes advantage of people, ESPECIALLY women. Do NOT go here.

First I would like to say Sorry for not meeting your expectations. I disagree with your statement about how we treat women and people from out of town. We have multiple reviews stating the exact opposite and we go to great lengths to maintain that. Second, we do not install Customer provided parts. When you buy parts you are getting them for the "Do it Yourself" price yet you were not doing it yourself. Would you take eggs and bread to a restaurant and ask them to make your breakfast? Of course you wouldn't. Parts sales are part of the model in the Automotive repair industry. Third, our repairs come with a 3yr/36k mile NATIONWIDE warranty. Your repair from the other Shop has a 12mo/12k local warranty on the Labor only. Fourth, a Cooling system flush is not standard when a radiator is replaced. If the condition of the remaining coolant is good there is no need to incur the additional parts cost. Finally, yes we do charge for a Vehicle inspection to determine the needs for an entire/proper repair. Why was the radiator leaking? Was it just age or is the cooling fan system not working causing a pressure increase and subsequesnt damage to the radiator? I the Rad cap working or did that allow for pressure build up? What is the condition of the Coolant hoses and should they be replaced also? There are many variables. You did not want to allow us to evaluate the Vehicle. My Service Manager gave you "best guess" on the repair without knowing any details or having the proper time to see what other Part options may have been available to lower the cost.

DO NOT COME HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN! YOU WILL BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! First off: rude as heck! Me and my friend’s van broke down on the side of the road the night before bc of a radiator leak. When we came in and asked for help the guy at the front said, “well here’s what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna charge you $150.59 regardless if I fix it or not, then if we decide to fix it it’ll just go up from there.” My friend asked “How much does it cost to fix a radiator?” He said “I’ll charge you $909 and that’s not including a coolant flush which will be $233.” It was like he was pulling these prices from his butt. And a coolant flush is PART OF THE PROCESS. That’s like going to the dentist and then charging you to rise your mouth out after they cleaned your teeth. This company saw 2 woman who were from out of town who were just looking for some help. And he tried to take advantage of us. Luckily we aren’t stupid and have ppl looking out for us. But I advise any women coming here alone, to NOT! They WILL take advantage of you. When we went to tell him no thank you, he was on the phone chit chatting with his buddy and we were trying to wave to be polite and he completely ignored us as if we weren’t even there. DO NOT COME HERE! We ended up buying our own parts at autozone (my uncle has a commercial discount so that saved some $) but we went down to BERNIE’S and they only charged us 2 hours worth of labor. We got our Radiator changed, upper and lower radiator hose change, coolant flush and re-stocked, thermometer changed and a coolant fan changed. All in all, for paying for our parts plus labor, we walked away paying $589.16 Where THIS GUY TRIED TO CHARGE OVER $1,300 , AGAIN, TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN AND OUT OF TOWNERS! GO TO BERNIES!

My car was overheating and having several issues, the technicians at Clintonville automotive repair were kind and helpful with explaining what was wrong with my car, the cost to fix it, why the parts failed and gave me recommendations for fixing. Ultimately my 15 yr old (210,000 mile) car reached the end of its lifespan but I will continue to use Clintonville Automotive repair for my next car. I highly recommend this shop!

Called for a tune up price.. guy really asked why do I need a tune up… i told him my spark plugs are bad..he said they really don’t go bad… and he couldn’t give me a price on just changing plug and wires he got look at it.. just sounds like they trying to get extra money.. got bad vibes from these people Reply to their reply .. To reply to them.. it was sparkplugs and wires.. I know because I had a compression test done... And was shown the plug .. I just asked for a job done that I wanted.. and there is something called routine maintenance I totally get what you mean about it being something else.. but some people know what they want . And Instead of just saying.. how are you sure or did you have a previous diagnostic... It was just handeled poorly

Sorry to hear you got the bad vibes. Can't think of anyone here that would say a spark plug can't go bad as they go bad often. We do not do phone quotes because the vast majority of the time they are incorrect. We prefer to inspect the vehicle because often there is more to the job and we would rather give the proper price than have to call and explain the add ons. THAT looks trying to get extra money for sure. As an example: What appears to be a spark plug issue can also be a faulty ignition coil. It is not uncommon to find oil in the spark plug tube that is due to faulty valve cover gasket. As you can see, a quote for sprk plugs can turn into plugs, one or more coils, and a valve cover gasket. Much different price and in this example the valve cover gasket leak would actually be the probable source of the coil/plug problem. All of our Diagnostics are provided to the Customer by text or email with included photos of the problem areas.

I took my car in because it stopped accelerating on the highway. The mechanic said he couldn’t re create my issue, no indicator lights came on and the car was fine. Attempted to drive it home but had the same issue happen twice in a fifteen minute trip. The car can’t be fine and also failing to drive. I question whether or not they even did anything or just charged a fee for a diagnostic test and told me everything was fine. Don’t recommend.

Our scans of the vehicle computers showed no Current, Pending, or History fault codes. Our test drive did not show any abnormal reading from any of the vehicle sensors. This is why we only charged for the 30 minutes spent. We are sorry that it continued to act up for you. That said, if we do not have any issues it is difficult to make any recommendations and we would never do any any repairs on just a guess.

Good clean shop. Lots of good support. Good communication with the apps. Things are so expensive nowadays. Rotors and pads for all wheels = around 1200 -1300, is a little on the pricey side. It's like that everywhere though. I fixed it myself for less than $500. Took me about an hour and a half. But your diagnostic was spot on and fair priced. You guys do good work.

If you’re tight on cash, I wouldn’t recommend this place. They want your car by 7-8am but might not start working on it until 2-3pm. So that seems like an unorganized way of repairing cars. If you owe less than $300-$400 they are going to run up the cost with a full inspection. They are really awesome mechanics. Complete knowledgeable about their craft. If you need small things done, they will do what they can to get you out of there. Unfortunately, they will leave a bad taste in your mouth if you can’t make the repairs “worth their time”

Our Full Inspection is provided at no cost and is done on every vehicle that comes through the door. There is a separate inspection done based on specific Customer complaints. The no cost Inspection is done to identify any other relevant issues so the Customer can make educated and informed choices regarding their vehicle repairs. We take appointments for every day based on the hours available for work and the needs that days Customers are having. Having everything there by 8-9am allows us to create a flow that will allow for everything to get completed after the vehicles are diagnosed. If something is dropped off at noon or 1pm we may have already allocated the available hours to the vehicles that were dropped earlier.

They don’t communicate about costs until the work is already done and it’s time to pay and you’re stuck. When I dropped off my keys the night before my car’s appointment I signed that I wanted to my contacted if repairs were over $200 and was not contacted when my bill turned out to be $1,357. They took advantage of me. Why even have the “call me with an estimate” option if they aren’t going to do that? They kept my car all day. I even called mid-day and talked to someone on the phone and he never told me the cost of anything, never warned me about cost or talked numbers. He never offered advice about the services I’d requested, like what maintenance was typically done at this mileage. I learned to always request an estimate, to not be naive and trusting. I used to take my car here regularly but now I can’t trust them.

Sorry you felt this way. We discussed all of the repairs that were done, and the costs, when the Appointment was scheduled over the phone. The things completed were all services that were recommended on previous visits and the costs were discussed at that time as well as being printed on the bottom of those Invoices. Due to the conversations in the past, and when the Appointment was scheduled, it was our understanding everything was clear as the reasons and pricing were disclosed multiple times.

2005 Accord with manual developed shifting issues, making it undrivable or at least unreliable. After taking it somewhere else that cost $500 with no improvement we took it to CARS, where they fixed the problem and did not charge us what we had originally expected (the fix was easier than anticipated). Not as convenient for us geographically, but we had a positive experience (the owner was straight with us, responsive, professional) and would recommend.

CARS exceeded my expectations. It has been a long time since I've had a car repaired by someone other than a factory dealer. Nonetheless, I was fortunate enough to have chosen this company. When I dropped the car off, I met the owner and had a long conversation. I never felt rushed. Two hours later, I had a beautifully detailed estimate that included audio and video of the problem and the suggested repair. They also took the time to check the overall health of my car and made a few soft suggestions - which I approved. A phone call set my expectation to having it ready the next day, it was ready the same day. Finally, the final cost was less than the estimate and the car runs like new. This was an outstanding experience. 👍

CARS seemed like a safe choice for my car's needs based on the multitude of positive reviews. But I was puzzled when I drove off in my newly fixed vehicle, only to find that my vents were blowing hot air and no one had bothered to inform me. After scheduling another appointment, I was told it would be over $400 to recharge the AC, which seemed extremely high compared to average estimates. Not even a few weeks went by though, once it was recharged, and the hot air returned. CARS told me they had found a leak, which would cost even more than the initial recharge to fix. It's frustrating that the leak could have be tackled in the first place, on top of the plethora of trips and time I had to waste dropping off my car (not to mention the fact that they didn't notify me the last time my vehicle was ready to be picked up). Ultimately, I was in a bind and CARS did the job. But I just hope that future clientele experience better communication than I did.

The staff at Clintonville Auto Repair Service are awesome. They are very friendly, helpful, patient and knowledgeable. The mechanics perform quality work. They are dependable and stand behind their work. My car had an oil leak. It was in a difficult place to find. Paul and Gary always keep their customers informed and they explain the work to be completed. During my most recent visit, Paul went above and beyond. He is amazing. The young woman who is the accountant/cashier is very pleasant and friendly. I always enjoy our talks. CARS is an outstanding place to bring a car for repairs. I would recommend them to everyone.

The folks here were very warm and kind. Most of all they were extremely clear about their process and they were incredibly fair. I got updates about the general health of my car throughout the day. Went in for brake work, got my brakes taken care of and a couple other things. Nothing beats the feeling of safety after getting your car back from C.A.R.S. Plus they reassured me that the mess in my car was far from the worst they had seen! Wow! I’ve been a car owner for decades and this is the first time I’ve been to a mechanic that understands how to be considerate to a customer. I’m so impressed with their friendliness and professionalism. They provided me with a lot of information and kept their word every step of the way. The online report on my Jeep was such a nice touch. After all these years, I’ve finally found a maintenance/repair shop that I’ll be happy to go back to.

The people who work here blew me away with the level of professionalism, organization and communication they provided for me. They clearly communicated to me any issues that were associated with my car and gave me some valuable information. I had some general maintenance items done and was planning on going elsewhere for new tires. Based on my experience here I think I will be coming back here to have them do my tires for me. This is how service should be! This was my first time going here and I will be coming to them every time from now on. Such great customer service, care, and attention to detail! I was absolutely blown away by how professional and courteous the staff were. They explain everything to you with such detail that you yourself feel like a fully trained mechanic. It was nice to be able to trust an auto body shop and have zero doubts of being taken advantage of or feeling like you’re being massively overcharged. As long as I am in Columbus, I will be a CARS customer!

I absolutely loved taking my car to C.A.R.S. Everything within the process was smooth, efficient and worry free! Their system of texting and emailing as well as recommended services was not something I have ever seen but I really liked how they prioritized everything necessary to repair. I felt cared for the entire way through. The guys at C.A.R.S are very down to earth and I loved chatting with Gary both upon dropping my car off and picking it back up. If you are looking for a place that is not trying to nickel and dime or upsell to care for your car in Columbus look no further! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!

Backing Michael’s review of this place from 8 months ago. My first experience ever taking my car to a shop and my phone call with Gary was very displeasing, as he was pretty rude and seemed annoyed that I didn’t know what he knew. Found the tone to be pretty condescending but brushed it off since the place came recommended. Everything went great when I took my car in for the battery & an overheating issue. I was actually pleased with the service, though they didn’t address the overheating problem at the time. Ended up having to make another appointment after the original, the guy I spoke on the phone with was not Gary and it was very pleasant. I was excited to take it back given my first experience. After discussing my options for my overheating issue this time around, Gary, to whom I was speaking to on the phone was rude and condescending *again*. As a business owner myself, I would never speak to any of my clients in the way that he talked to me both times. Have some humility. Part of running a business and being a professional is having a bad day(s) and NEVER letting your clients or customers know that you are. 3 stars because the first work they did was decent, despite not addressing the overheating issue then.

I apologize you didn't feel as if you were spoken to appropriately. I have addressed the issue with the Staff. The reason we did not address the overheating issue is that it did not overheat, or run hot, while we had it the 1st visit. On the subsequent visit we learned the specific driving conditions (drive more than 12 miles over 65 mph) you were experiencing the issue. Under those conditions we still did not have an overheat but did find the reason that it would at times, which was a restriction in the radiator.

These guys are great, very clear communication throughout the whole day, I got pictures of my car with what they looked at and the issues they found. My headlight was having some electrical issues and they were able to fix it the same day I scheduled the appointment and do an oil change. They told me other things they found during the inspection and were very honest about how everything should be prioritized-if I could wait on issues and when I should probably get them fixed. Overall a great experience and I will be coming here again.

I am always impressed with the work of specialists at CARS. They are thorough, reliable, mindful of cost, accountable, never suggest unneeded repairs. However, this time they went beyond what I can expect. My daughter is in the navy, was here for just a week, they handled her scheduled maintenance work as planned, but then later her car had unexpected issues, and they really worked hard to get the parts and get work done for her to return to her base in a timely manner, and during holiday season too. I am very grateful and highly recommend this service company.

I get all my car work done here and I've done so for years. They always do a good job and for a very reasonable price. Repair invariably comes in for less than the cost of the estimate. Also, they have a very inexpensive car rental available for the day.

I decided to give CARS a chance, and I can honestly say they provided the BEST auto service I have ever had. All of the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a great system. Being the first time they had seen my car, they did a thorough inspection. When the inspection was complete, I received a link to my own page, detailing (with photos of my own car!) what is Good, Needs Eventual Attention, and Needs Immediate Attention. They were 100% transparent about everything, and I’m so grateful for their thorough explanations. They were completely honest about what I should prioritize and what may not be as important for my situation. I will definitely be coming back for all of my auto needs.

The most important thing I'd like to say is that this has to be the most honest and respectful place to have automotive work done that I've been too in years. Service was affordable and the service that was offered is the service that my vehicle needed. Not any additions trying to sale me extra stuff that I didn't need. Excellent Service, Very Friendly, Very Informative on services that were needed, on services that were performed and even scheduled a follow up to inspect vehicle to make sure everything was working fine. Excellent place to have car serviced. My new go to, to have service performed on current, future and all vehicles that they can service.

I really appreciate the integrity, speediness, and care of the mechanics here. I've come back to C.A.R.S. 3 times now and will keep coming back. The first two times they did work for me, everything was standard. The work was done well, and I was generally pleased with it. I also like how they do a three-tiered system of urgency when they run diagnostics on a car. They send you a report with what's "in the red" and needs to be done immediately, then other colors list other levels of urgency. Pretty helpful. I also appreciate how transparent they are about what issues might arise later on when you can't focus on what's "in the red" right away. They give you a timeline and aspects of the car to keep an eye on. Very helpful. The third time they did work for me was a cosmic mess, which they handled brilliantly... My car ended up with the back end and underside sprayed in its own engine oil a week after I had an oil change here. I assumed they were at fault at first and called C.A.R.S. in a panic, having also just seen all of that & the fact that my oil was bone dry. They towed my car immediately and eventually figured out that I had a defective oil filter :O They checked everything and were able to determine that the oil was low but not empty (THANK GOD), and that the engine shouldn't be permanently damaged. And, although it wasn't their mistake, they still covered all the costs of the work they did to fix my car & make sure she was okay :))) They even set up a free check-up for my car 2 weeks later to make sure she's staying okay after their initial help. I'm very happy with these mechanics! If you give them a chance, you won't be let down by their integrity, their honesty, their follow-through, and their true care for the customer. As I told them before, they've made a Forever Client with me :) Thanks, C.A.R.S.

Gary well-explained how Prius brakes needed careful diagnostics about how it's wear and interaction with the rotor and caliper. For that reason I chose CARS. My service included the 4-wheel brake pad/rotor replacement, along with cabin and air filter replacement. Driving through Smoky Mtns, I can tell the improved braking performance. Thanks guys!

My 2004 Kia Optima had suddenly stalled on me and I thought it was a battery issue but my automotive specialists at CARS determined it was a crankshaft position sensor that needed replaced they also installed a new timing kit and O ring seal Because the work was going to take additional time I was very generously offered a rental car free of charge for over the extended holiday weekend Thanks to the excellent work of CARS auto specialists I have no doubt my car will make it beyond 20 years-it’s 18 now!

Clintonville Automotive Repair Service is like the middle ground between the two. C.A.R.S. is more budget friendly than F.C.A.C. but you can't really put it on a line of credit and pay it off over time. They might not be willing to jump as many hoops for you or accommodate you as W.R.A.S., but you will still be getting quality service and experience. Think of this way: CARS is what us poor working people think of when we think of "take it in to a professional mechanic" rather than doing the work ourselves or having a buddy do it. You might not be getting the flashy bits you get with Firestone, but they will take care of your car. There's 2 other good businesses in the area. My whole family has been using C.A.R.S. for as long as I can remember. This most recent time, I noticed all of the upgrades they made to support customers who aren't car people! They send frequent updates with pictures and recommendations. They were super understanding and helpful when issues came up on my side. I'm feeling pretty good about my decision to keep coming back to them time after time :)

Rude and overpriced. Lousy Experience from start to finish by a 1 store small shop. Owner claimed integrity and honesty about adding $1500 to the exact same part when installing an engine. The part was available and could have been dropped shipped on my side for ~$2400. Shop owner made absurd claim of only 'only dealing with preferred businesses' whereas he rejected dealing with the best known parts providers including Jasper. Overblown ego based on specious claim of integrity - arrogance is not same as integrity. 'We honestly do charge a dealer rate for parts' - as if ripping off a customer for $1500 is honesty.

As a single young woman I’m always afraid of being over charged at auto shops. A Clintonville Auto they have always quoted and charged me at or below prices I’ve researched, never pressure me to do a bunch of extra things, and send me texts when I die for routine maintenance. Everyone there is super friendly as well. Great place, would strongly recommend.
